Last week I was sitting outside of Bar Taco. Waiting for my tacos (we won’t say how many), and just minding my business. Watching everyone walking around with their masks in the 70+ degree weather.
Then- I hear a screech, then a bang.
I turn to my left, someone side swiped another car trying to pull into the same parking spot. Parallel parking man… am I right?
I see the guy that side swiped the girl, in his car, panicking. Hands over his face, looking to his friend in the passenger seat, with that “UGH” facial expression.
He gets out of the car, shaky. She gets out of her car, and takes a look at the damage.
Both with no masks on.
She notices how flustered his was. There was minimal damage on each car, but enough to be noticeable from across the street where I was parked.
She put her hands out for a hug, he accepted. They hugged, a long, hard genuine hug (yes, I was choked up). They smiled at each other and went their separate ways.
Regardless of what’s going on around us, love still doesn’t cost a thing. Caring, being understanding, and respecting that you don’t know what’s going on deeper for others is so important to remember. We’re all human. ❤️
