I had a really interesting phone call this week with a girl who works for another Minor League Baseball Team.
Here are some questions/statements that she brought up:
“I want to lead.”
“How do I gain that trust level where I don’t feel like I’m being micromanaged?”
“I want to prove that I can be a good mentor.”
“I know I lack confidence, but it’s hard to build that when I don’t feel supported while at work.”
“I’m not sure if I belong here, but I want to be here.”
While I could offer my opinion and perspective, it’s only so much. What advice would you give her? What can she work on now while she has less of a workload, and more time to focusing on growing as a professional?
